Spotlight: Bellecour Bakery

After two visits to Spoon and Stable we couldn't resist the pull to make the drive out to Gavin Kaysen's newest venture Bellecour bakery.  To be more

clear we were actually the most excited to sample pastry chef Dianne Yang's croissants. We had read about them in Mpls St Paul Magazine saying they were the best croissants in the Twins Cities Area. They were indeed spectacular, while we haven't sampled all of the croissants (and probably never will) they are most certainly a front runner in our opinion.

The bakery and the restaurant are themed after a square in Lyon France, called Place Bellecour. Lyon is home to Kaysens friends and mentors Daniel Boulud and Paul Bocuse. Place Bellecour is the meeting place of Lyon, and that's what Bellecour tries to be, the meeting place of downtown Wayzata. The menu is classic French food, on the dinner menu and bakery menu. Containing items such as steak frites, bouillabaisse and duck à l'orange.
